David Kaye has experienced a meteoric rise in only a few short years, establishing himself as a leading streamer in the US market and joining PokerStars Team Pro.
The Michigan native discovered poker with friends in the summer of 2010, inspired by having just watched the World Series of Poker (WSOP) that year. After playing small-stakes live tournaments and cash games until 2020, Kaye continued playing poker when casinos closed due to COVID-19 restrictions by switching to the online game. He subsequently decided to start creating poker content for Twitch and YouTube as a part-time passion project.
As PokerStars relaunched in Michigan the following year, his efforts accelerated and, by the end of 2021, Kaye had left his job as a data analyst to play poker full-time. By the time 2022 had ended, Kaye was representing PokerStars as a member of Team Pro.
On joining PokerStars Team Pro, David said, “The process has been amazing. The thing that really impressed me was that PokerStars wasn't trying to make me sell myself to them.
Instead, it was them telling me how much they really liked what I did. The fact they were very clear and clearly appreciated and respected what I do, I mean obviously coming from PokerStars that was just very cool."
David’s Twitch streams mainly focus on No-Limit Hold’em cash games, and his friendly community attracts many players from the same US cash game pools as he plays in. As online poker grows in the USA, Kaye is committed to being an ambassador to the game, and to creating an enriching community for new players to enter into.
He said, “It's just been really cool to see online poker flourishing in America. There are just so many games running at all different stakes. Just imagine if we can get more states into one player pool; I think it's going to be incredible.”
David Kaye plays online poker exclusively at PokerStars, where he plays under the username ‘DavidKayePoker’.
